Compulsory Attendance

Posted Date: 01/27/2020

Parents/Guardians:

Be reminded that State of Oklahoma has compulsory attendance laws Title 70, section 10-105 that states: children between the ages of 5 and 18 must attend school.

Students are allowed 16 days (10%/159 days) absence for the entire school year.  Missing over 16 days will result in failure or non-credit for coursework.  The reason for these absences is irrelevant…excused/unexcused makes no difference.  An absence is an absence and more than 16 is too many.

It is easy to lose track.  Please call the office and check up on your child/children before it is too late.

These excessive absences are being reported to Pittsburg County officials soon which could result in fines.
